A route to explore · Ontario

I have a finance degree and 15 years of experience abroad. Where can I restart?

Build on finance experience gained abroad

Your starting point

Choose two target roles and list your relevant achievements. A foreign BCom or finance degree does not automatically need replacing.

A pathway helps you explore. It does not decide eligibility or guarantee admission, funding, licensing or work. Each program has its own checked date.

01 / Start with your situation

Your first steps

  1. Choose two target roles and list your relevant achievements. A foreign BCom or finance degree does not automatically need replacing.
  2. For the GTA, ask ACCES about TRIEC mentor screening and a finance match. Compare York's business bridge or ask WILL whether it can serve your location and specialty.
  3. Confirm which credentials the target roles require before paying for courses. If professional accounting is the goal, use the separate CPA assessment pathway.

02 / Compare real options

Programs and organizations to explore

Open a program to see requirements, costs, funding and the official starting point.

03 / Check affordability

Possible funding

These are leads to assess individually. Loans must be repaid, and grants have conditions.

04 / Before you commit

Important distinctions

  • TRIEC has experience, time-in-Canada, language and status conditions; mentor availability is not guaranteed.
  • BCom is a degree, not one occupation. A securities course, CPA designation or second degree is not required for every business or finance job.
