Your first steps
- Ask your university or home regulator whether your qualification is a professional architecture degree; CACB does not pre-confirm degree eligibility by phone/email.
- Select the correct certification category, confirm its fee with CACB at 613-241-8399, and prepare the published document checklist before applying.
Individual assessment process; not a dated training cohort. Processing depends on a complete application and category.

Requirements and limits
- A professional architecture qualification accepted for entry to licensure in the country of education; an unrelated or pre-professional degree alone is insufficient.
- Typical qualifying degrees are a five-year BArch, or MArch following relevant prior study; other structures need evidence from the home regulator.
- For foreign non-accredited qualifications: transcripts, degree copies, study-year syllabus/contact hours, design-project list, identification, and any required bachelor-to-master linking letter. Follow the category-specific checklist and translation rules.
No citizenship/residency restriction identified on the certification eligibility page; Ontario internship, employment and licensing conditions require separate checking.
Important limits and details to confirm
- Certification is not an Ontario architect licence. Subsequent OAA internship, examination and licensing requirements remain.
- Assessment can require further courses; provisional certification for professional-practice deficiencies requires specified coursework within 18 months.
- CACB supplies no direct financial assistance. Its listed Atlantic immigrant loan is outside this Ontario route's catchment.
Location
- Canada-wide certification applicable to Ontario's IAP; CACB office in Ottawa.

No specific funding established; see conditional Funding leads where relevant.
