A route to explore · Ontario

I already have a degree and want to become an occupational therapist. Where could I begin?

Explore occupational therapy after a degree in another subject

Your starting point

Compare your degree and applicant category with the University of Toronto's MScOT admission requirements.

A pathway helps you explore. It does not decide eligibility or guarantee admission, funding, licensing or work. Each program has its own checked date.

01 / Start with your situation

Your first steps

  1. Compare your degree and applicant category with the University of Toronto's MScOT admission requirements.
  2. Ask admissions how your international transcript is assessed, and confirm supplementary requirements and the current deadline.
  3. Request a full tuition, placement and living-cost budget, then ask financial aid to assess the exact program and your circumstances.

02 / Compare real options

03 / Check affordability

Possible funding

These are leads to assess individually. Loans must be repaid, and grants have conditions.

04 / Before you commit

Important distinctions

  • This is an entry-to-practice degree for a new profession. Internationally qualified occupational therapists should investigate recognition first.
  • Admission requires Canadian citizenship or permanent residence; international-student status alone does not qualify. Admission is competitive, and graduation, examination and registration remain separate. OSAP requires assessment.
