A route to explore · Ontario

I studied nutrition or dietetics abroad. How do I find out whether I can become a registered dietitian in Ontario?

Assess dietetics education and practice completed abroad

Your starting point

Start with the College of Dietitians of Ontario's internationally educated applicant guidance and confirm the assessment route.

A pathway helps you explore. It does not decide eligibility or guarantee admission, funding, licensing or work. Each program has its own checked date.

01 / Start with your situation

Your first steps

  1. Start with the College of Dietitians of Ontario's internationally educated applicant guidance and confirm the assessment route.
  2. Ask Registration to confirm accepted language evidence, the next assessment dates and the next stage for your KCAT result: the dated policy differs from older application/process wording.
  3. Prepare the required education and practice documents, then obtain remaining assessment, training, examination and registration costs before selecting courses or financing.

02 / Compare real options

Programs and organizations to explore

Open a program to see requirements, costs, funding and the official starting point.

03 / Check affordability

Possible funding

These are leads to assess individually. Loans must be repaid, and grants have conditions.

04 / Before you commit

Important distinctions

  • A general nutrition degree or work experience alone does not establish eligibility for dietitian registration.
  • Prior-learning assessment does not itself grant registration. A paused bridging program must not be presented as an available enrolment option.
