A route to explore · Ontario

I want accounting skills for work or a business, but do not know whether I need a degree.

Try practical accounting before committing to a degree

Your starting point

Define the skills or target job you want before choosing the length and price of training.

A pathway helps you explore. It does not decide eligibility or guarantee admission, funding, licensing or work. Each program has its own checked date.

01 / Start with your situation

Your first steps

  1. Define the skills or target job you want before choosing the length and price of training.
  2. Compare the short Skills for Change introduction with York's continuing-education certificate; confirm the next intake and full payable fees.
  3. If your goal is CPA qualification, obtain a CPA Ontario assessment first. Ask providers about any payment or financial support, without assuming a grant.

02 / Compare real options

Programs and organizations to explore

Open a program to see requirements, costs, funding and the official starting point.

03 / Check affordability

Possible funding

See each program’s funding section and ask its provider about your eligibility and full costs. No pathway-wide funding is guaranteed.

04 / Before you commit

Important distinctions

  • York SCS states its certificate does not meet the new CPA Professional Program requirements starting in 2027; it is not presented as that qualification's preparation route.
  • York SCS says this certificate is not OSAP eligible. CPA recognition and subsidized places are not established for the Skills for Change course; neither option guarantees employment.
